Riders must complete all three stages to be eligible for overall placement and awards.

are e-bikes allowed?

Yes! The eBike category is for riders who want to experience the full OZ Stage Race adventure without the pressure of competition. You’ll still get professional timing, full race support, aid stations, finisher awards, and access to all event festivities — but there are no podium placements. It’s all about the ride, the trails, and the community.

What type of eBikes are allowed?

Only Class 1 eBikes (pedal-assist, no throttle, max assist speed of 20 mph) are permitted in the event. This ensures a consistent experience for all riders and keeps the race aligned with trail system regulations.

Will my battery last for each stage?

Each stage will challenge both riders and batteries! We strongly recommend that all eBike participants either:

  • Use a range extender, or

  • Bring a second battery (the OZ Stage Race team will transport your backup battery to the designated aid station each day).

This ensures you can complete every stage with confidence and enjoy the full course without worry.

Will eBike riders still get the full OZ Stage Race experience?

Absolutely. The OZ Stage Race is designed to be inclusive opening the event to more riders and removing barriers to participation. You’ll share the same course, community, and celebration as our competitive fields. This is your chance to ride the same world-class trails, soak in the atmosphere, and be part of something unforgettable — your race, your pace.

is there a time cutoff for each stage?

Yes, each stage will have posted cutoff times to ensure rider safety and course management. Cutoff details will be provided prior to race day.

What is the refund or transfer policy?

Refunds and transfers are subject to the race’s official policy, which will be outlined in the registration page. Please review it carefully before signing up.

what happens in case of bad weather?

The race will continue rain or shine, but course modifications may be made in the case of severe or unsafe conditions. Any changes will be communicated to participants promptly.
