The Rules & the Purse
Race rules, team timing, cut-offs and the 2027 prize purse.
Keep it simple.
We like to keep things simple at the Oz Stage Race. Our number one priority is to ensure a fair and safe racing environment for all competitors.
Nine rules
A properly fitted helmet is required whenever you are riding.
Be courteous. Bullying, rough riding and foul language are grounds for disqualification without refund.
Outside assistance is allowed only at official aid stations. Teammates may assist each other on course.
No course cutting. Intermediate timing checks enforce the marked route; follow arrows, cones and tape on the right-side convention.
Teammates must remain within two minutes. A gap over two minutes adds the gap as a penalty. Example: Team A finishes 1:30 apart and receives no penalty. Team B finishes 3:00 apart and receives a 3:00 penalty. If one member DNFs, the other may continue as an individual and be recognized as a finisher.
The top ten prologue finishers set the Stage One grid. Later stages use leader jerseys.
Urban course sections include hazards. Riders must yield at road crossings and follow marshal instructions.
Carry it in, carry it out. Littering is grounds for penalty or disqualification.
Ride hard, look after each other and keep safety first.
