Stage Two · Little Sugar — The Queen

The queen stage of the Oz Stage Race on Bella Vista’s Little Sugar trails.

The Queen.

Little Sugar winds through the hollers and ravines on the west side of Bella Vista. Bring your climbing legs: there is more climbing per mile here than anywhere in Northwest Arkansas. Expect Tunnel Vision and Up Hill Both Ways.

Saturday is the longest day, on the newest trail, at the point in the weekend where four days stops being an abstraction. Little Sugar is where the race tends to be decided — not because it is the hardest day on paper, but because it follows one full scored stage, plus the optional prologue.
