Privacy Policy
How the Ozark Foundation collects, uses and protects information through ozstagerace.com, and the choices you have.
Who we are
The OZ Stage Race is produced by the Ozark Foundation ("the Ozark Foundation," "we," "us"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Bentonville, Arkansas. This policy explains what information we collect through ozstagerace.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What information we collect
**Information you give us.** When you sign up for updates, contact us, take a survey, enter a giveaway or submit a form on this site, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address and phone number. You can browse the site without giving us any of this.
**Registration.** Race registration happens on BikeReg (athleteReg), not on this site. When you register, BikeReg collects your registration details and payment information under its own privacy policy, and shares registration details with us so we can run the event: for example your name, contact details, category, team, age, city and state, and emergency contact. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
**Information collected automatically.** When you visit the site, we and our service providers automatically collect some technical information, such as your browser and device type, the pages you visit, the site that referred you, and general location (city or region, based on IP address). We use cookies and similar technologies to do this (see below).
How we use your information
To run the OZ Stage Race: registration, race communications, results, rider services and safety.
To send you emails you've signed up for, such as race updates and registration news. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
To reply to your questions.
To understand how people use the site and improve it.
To show OZ Stage Race ads to people who have visited the site, and to measure whether those ads work (see below).
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
**Site function:** remembering basic preferences.
**Analytics:** we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google's practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
**Advertising:** we use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram). It tells us when someone who visited ozstagerace.com sees or responds to our ads, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited the site. Meta may combine this with information it already has about you under Meta's own data policy. You can control ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and learn more at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Visitors in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland (and anyone whose location we cannot determine) are asked first, and the Meta Pixel only runs if they accept. Anyone can accept or decline at any time using **Cookie settings** at the bottom of every page; declining stops the Meta Pixel immediately. Cookies are only set if your browser allows them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
When we share information
We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share information only:
With service providers who help us operate the site, the race and our communications (for example our website host, email provider, registration platform, timing partner and analytics and advertising providers). They may use it only to provide services to us.
With race partners, only when needed to run the event safely, such as medical providers during the race.
In published results. If you race, your name, category, team, hometown and times appear in public results and on our list of past racers.
When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of riders, volunteers, the public or the Foundation.
We may share non-personal, aggregated information (for example, "riders came from 35 states") publicly and with partners.
Photos
Photographers work at the OZ Stage Race. Race photos may include you and may be used in our website, social media, partner and press materials. If you'd like a specific photo of you removed from our own channels, contact us.
How long we keep information
We keep registration and results information as a permanent record of the race, because results and the list of past racers are part of the event's history. We keep other personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete it or make it anonymous. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your choices").
Your choices
**Email:** unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at the bottom.
**Ads and analytics:** use your browser's cookie settings, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and your Facebook and Instagram ad settings.
**Access, correction and deletion:** email us at info@OzarkFoundation.org to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. We may keep what we're required to keep by law, and published results stay part of the race record.
How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (SSL) connections on this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for people 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Registration for junior riders under 18 is completed through BikeReg with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other sites, including BikeReg, Strava and our partners. Their privacy policies, not this one, apply to those sites.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes on this page and update the effective date at the top.
